Federal Taxes – Fair Tax
FairTax – “Because Once you Understand it. You’ll Demand it.”
On January 22, 2021, Milam signed the FairTax Pledge, leaving Dan Crenshaw the only US House Texas District 2 candidate to not sign the pledge. Milam supports and believes, The FairTax plan is the first step to eliminate the IRS and repeal the 16th Amendment which grants the federal government the power to tax the citizens based on income.

Under the current progressive income tax system, individuals or families are penalized for making more money, while others take advantage of various loopholes to lessen their contribution or to completely avoid paying taxes altogether. The FairTax is a national consumption or sales taxes meaning taxes are collected on the things which are purchased and not based on your income. It is an everyone pays system where loopholes are eliminated and means that those living here and foreign visitors are all paying into the system.
The results of implementing the FairTax over the current income tax, will increase the tax base by an estimated 100 million* and reduce the *Effective Tax Rate for individuals and families which means more of your paycheck in your pocket. Part of the plan to relieve the tax burden on purchase of necessities for families and individuals will be prebate checks provided each month. For example a family of 4 would receive approximately *$7300+ annually in prebate dollars.
